Bhote Koshi River originates in the Tibetan plateau Shisapangma 8013m flows viciously to Nepal in the south that changes it bursting speed only in Barhabise then runs in Lamosangu Hydropower Dam. The name of Bhotekoshi River has been derivated from Bhot which means Tibet and Koshi means 'River', the Nepalese old generation still call Tibet as 'Bhot'.

 It takes three hours driving from Kathmandu along the Arniko Highway to reach Bhote Koshi by bus.  And, you will be witnessing views of snow-capped mountains such as Langtang and Dorje Lakpa towards the north of the country. The river flows through narrow gorges covered in lush green vegetation and from the rocks flow down translucent waterfalls. The white water of the Bhote Koshi is highly challenging and come one after another in immediate sequence. With its precipitous incline, it is a fast flowing river that challenges the capability of river guides.

From the last week of February through end of May and from last week of September till November, it is the perfect time to raft on the Bhotekoshi. Some of the few names of rapids on Bhotekoshi River are - the Great Wall, the Water Paradise, Frog in a Blender, Water world of confusion, Gerbil in the plumbing and the like.
